In 2003 this piece of timber was discovered embedded in beach clay close by Porlock Weir. It has been scientifically dated to between 780 and 1020 AD. Although it has clearly been shaped by man and made for a purpose, it remains unidentified. If you think you may know what it could be we would love to hear from you.
