Porlock Manor Estate
Where Exmoor tumbles to the sea

Porlock Weir is one of the most picturesque ports anywhere on the British coast. Nestling beneath the hills of Exmoor, the quaint stone buildings and thatched cottages of the village cluster around the harbour and the 15th century Ship Inn.

The beautiful setting offers an idyllic base for a West Country break. The historic Anchor Hotel has recently been refurbished by celebrated hotelier Martin Miller and his daughter Tanya, who have created a haven of rich colours with roaring log fires, filled with antiques, curiosities and books by the thousand.
The Café, formerly Andrew's on the Weir, is a country house restaurant with rooms, where the award-winning international cuisine is as good as the views, while next door the Ship Inn is a relaxing spot for a harbourside drink or a bar snack.

Porlock Weir is also the ideal place to browse around the small but varied group of shops, offering everything from ladies' fashion to hand-blown Exmoor glass. There's also a fascinating aquarium, and parking is easy at the spacious car park behind the beach.
